Really enjoyed this book and loved seeing Sarah and Alex again. The author does a great job of keeping you on edge and wondering what will happen next. She also does a great job of conveying the desperation and hope surrounding the event that these characters find themselves in. It was so good I read it in one night and stayed up til 3am, and I don't regret it for a second! I am definitely looking forward to picking up her past and any future titles!Product details

Tumbledown (Audible Audio Edition) Cari Hunter Nicola Victoria Vincent Bold Strokes Books Inc Books Reviews
Great book, easy to read in one sitting! Loved it! Charac ters were real and likable.
This book is a sequel, but you do not to have read it to enjoy this book. (although I did read the first book). This book will keep you guessing until the very end what happens to the main characters. I loved this book.
Tumbledown features Alex and Sarah from Desolation Point, along with a villain who is related to the villain in the previous book. Alex & Sarah, under assumed identities, have made a good life in a small town in Maine. Unknown to them, an enemy has been searching the internet for them for the past two years. When a picture of Sarah appears in the local paper, Caleb Deakin sees it, and is immediately on their trail, along with his pregnant wife, Leah. What follows is a real page turner! There are twists and turns, and betrayals that kept me awake until the wee hours! Hunter does a great job further developing Alex & Sarah's characters, as well as developing their relationship with each other. Other characters are fully fleshed out as well. This was a great sequel, and. . an opening was left for a third book in this series! Great news for readers who love books of romantic intrigue!
Tumbledown is the sequel to Desolation Point. As another reviewer said, you can read it as a stand-alone; however, I recommend you treat yourself and read Desolation Point first to get to know Sarah and Alex.
Hunter is great in her character development. She knows how to pull empathy from her readers. You can’t help but love Alex and Sarah and root for them all the way through both books. She brilliantly uses the characters’ reactions to each other to help you get to know them. For example, we quickly understand how frightening and insane white supremacist Caleb Deakin is by experiencing Leah’s (his wife’s) fear when she is near him. (Incidentally, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Leah as a main character in a follow-up book).
As in Desolation Point, this book contains a significant amount of violence and mayhem for the characters. Hunter doesn’t omit the emotions that come with such trials. Don’t expect a story-book ending. I don’t want to say too much and give anything away, but I will say we can feel the characters’ fear and grief, and Hunter does not forget to recognize the PTSD that would accompany the waking nightmares faced by the women in this book.
2 years after their horrific ordeal on Desolation Point Alex and Sarah have everything they never knew they wanted. A peaceful cabin on their own land in small-town Maine, new directions, new names, and most of all the joy of each other brings peace to their lives. They keep their eyes open, their heads down and are always conscious that there are threats still out there from the Church or Aryan Resistance.
When a Sarah's good deeds and Alex's injury on a police raid get them mentioned in the local paper, internet searches and face recognition software are triggered. The resulting confrontation will leave them fighting for their lives and their freedom.

Tumbledown is the sequel to Cari Hunter's second novel, Desolation Point. In it Alex and Sarah face a whole new set of challenges, but the underlying story is a continuation of the previous plot. This is a completely different type of action thriller however - and I mean that in a good way. Too many authors find a formula and re-write the same book over and over. All three of Cari Hunter's books are very different. There are themes, but no repeats.
This time Alex and Sarah are settled, living quietly together and trying to forge a new life in the aftermath of their extreme feat of endurance. They both appreciate how lucky they are to have survived, and what they have now is a love and a lifestyle beyond what they ever expected. Into this quiet idyll comes hatred, cruelty and pain and it is looking for them.
Once again Ms Hunter outdoes herself in the tension and pace of the plot. We literally know from the first 2 pages that the evil is hunting them, but we are held on the edge of our seats for the whole book to see what will unfold, how they will cope, whether they will survive - and at what cost this time. I literally couldn't put it down.
The main characters continue to develop and now we meet a new cast of friends and enemies, haters and supporters - both in the local community and as the plot unfolds. The supporting cast is well drawn whether it be cameo roles such as Esther to ongoing cast members like Agent Mike Castillo.
In the middle of all this tension and drama the characters manage to maintain their humanity and their sense of humor. Even at their darkest most painful moments Alex and Sarah are able to think of others, and release the tension with a gentle tease. Their love for one another is the strength that keeps them fighting to survive.
Well written, edited and effortlessly enthralling, Tumbledown is a wonderful read. It will stand alone, but why would you deprive yourself when there are two breathtaking books to read about these lovely women. So if you haven't yet read Desolation Point you have a huge treat in store for you - go buy them both.

I have read all of Cari books and have enjoyed all of them . The Second book is just as good as the first and maybe even a little better.
This is the first book that I have read by Cari Hunter and I diffidently will be looking for more of hers. I enjoyed the mystery and the character development. Sorry that I had not read the first book but this one is a stand alone. I could not wait to get back to reading the book. It is a keeper and worth your time and money. Enjoy!
This is a sequel to Desolation Point. I did not realize this until I had completed reading Tumbledown. Tumbledown is a very good mystery/suspense novel. If you are expecting or wanting any amount of romance, then do not bother with this title. If you want to know what happens to the main characters, then read by all means. For me, I want some romance and not just tension and words.
